ConnectED Pathways

What is ConnectED Pathways Program?


ConnectED Pathways is an educational and recreational program for Newcomer youth. It integrates sports and recreation, arts and crafts, culture and history, health, volunteerism, leadership, career exploration, schoolwork support and English language enhancement. Participants will make new friends, learn more about life in Canada, build self-confidence, enhance English language skills, and have a lot of fun.

The program is delivered to ages 6 to 18.

 

Who can attend?

The program is open to immigrant and refugee youth. Applicants must be a Permanent Resident, Protected Person or Convention Refugee.

 

What to look forward to?

The program will focus on a variety of recreational and educational activities, as well as volunteerism and community engagement.

 

When is this happening?

The Program will run on school breaks and PD days according to the following 3 terms:

 

Fall 2020

October:

26th - Public K-12
26th - Catholic K-12
29th - Public 9-12

November:

9th - Public K-8
9th - Catholic K-8

December:

4th - Catholic 9-12
18th - Public 9-12
21st -31st - Public K-12
21st -31st - Catholic K-12

 

Winter 2021

January:

25th - Catholic K-8
29th - Catholic 9-12

February:

16th -19th - Public K-12 (15 is Stat)
16th -19th - Catholic K-12 (15 is Stat)

March:

3rd - Public 9-12
8th - Public K-8
8th - Catholic K-8

 

Spring 2021

April:

6th -9th - Public K-12
6th -9th - Catholic K-12

May:

3rd - Public 9-12
7th - Catholic K-8
21st - Catholic 9-12

June:

7th - Catholic K-8
22nd - Catholic 9-12
24th - Public 9-12
24th - Catholic 9-12
25th - Public K-12
25th - Catholic K-8

The program will be delivered in three different locations:

Is the program free?

Yes, the program is free. You will need to bring your own lunch, as food will not be provided.
